[Fu Baoshi’s Mountain and Water Voiceless Map Axis]

The Mountain and Water Voiceless Map Axis, modern times, Fu Baoshi’s painting, paper based, color setting, vertical 98 cm, horizontal 45.3 cm
The title of this painting is: “There is a clear sound in the mountains and rivers. It was made with stones in the third month of Yiyou’s reign.” The seal is “Private Seal with Stones”, with a white text square seal, and “Often Drunken”, with a Zhu text rectangular seal
Yiyou was born in 1945
The picture depicts the autumn scenery in the mountains. The leaves of the trees have been blown away by the autumn wind, scattered among the forests, leaving a desolate and cold atmosphere. A waterfall falls from the sky in the distance, making a loud noise. Nearby, the water is gurgling, and there is no rest in the park. In the Water Pavilion, the literati stood on the railing, as if listening to the sounds of nature mixed by the sound of water from afar and nearby and the wind passing through the treetops. For a moment, one feels the unity of heaven and man, and the forgetfulness of things and me. The mountain stones do not need to be chapped by the scattered front, but instead express their texture in different shades of ink, with an elegant and pleasant temperament. The title of the sentence “Mountains and waters have a clear voice” in Xin Qiji, a bold and unconstrained poet of the Song Dynasty, in “The Head of a Water Tune Song • Drunken Chant” reflects the painter’s sentiment towards mountains and waters and yearning for a free and unrestrained life
