This is a classic portrait of the Yuan Dynasty, which was painted by Wang Yi and the famous landscape painter Ni Zan. The picture shows an old man standing on the slope with his staff, and dotted with turquoise and other simple scenery. On the left side of this painting, Ni Zan wrote the inscription: “Yang Zhuxi’s portrait of a high scholar was written by Wang Yi of Yan Ling, and Wu Ni Zan made up a pine stone. Guimao was in February.” Guimao was the 23rd year of Zhizheng (1363). According to the reading, this volume is made up of a small portrait with Wang Yi’s brush and Ni Zan’s painting. Yang Zhuxi, also known as Yang Qian, is a descendant of the Southern Song Dynasty. He is also known as a Buddhist in Zhuxi and a native of Songjiang. This picture should be the portrait of Yang’s late years after returning to Lin Quan. In the picture, Yang Qian wears a black scarf on his head, holds a staff in his right hand, and his robe is loose. His face is beautiful, straightforward and divine. The depiction is fine, and the faces of the characters are all in light ink, mainly in line, slightly baked and dyed, with little ink and a vivid expression, showing a high artistic level. The turquoise filled by Ni Zan is dry and beautiful, complementing the characters, which together constitute a beautiful portrait painting
This seal is printed by Ming and Qing collectors Xiang Yuanbian, Wu Yuanhui, Song Luo, He Longxi, Pei Jingfu and other collectors for 48 square meters, and half printed for 5 square meters. Before the painting, there is a section with a title, including the inscription and the name of the painter, and the seal of “Xiang’s Zijing”, “Zi Shao’s Eyes”, and “Secretary of Zheng’s Treasures of the Siming Dynasty”. It also has the “Mian” number of the ink book
