Johan Gunnar Andersson (July 3, 1874 – October 29, 1960) is a Swedish archaeologist, paleontologist, geologist, and one of the founders of modern archaeology in China. During his study tour in Asia, he took a large number of old photos of China and neighboring countries and published them inIn Antson’s Far East Photo Album, it is currently in the collection of the Swedish East Asia Museum.
This group of photos comes from this book. The main theme is the prosperous street scene of Shanghai in 1937.
