Xunhua Salar Autonomous County is located in the east of Qinghai Province and belongs to Haidong City. The eastern part of Laji, a branch of Qilian Mountains, borders Jishishan County in Gansu Province and Linxia County in Gansu Province in the east, Xiahe County in Gansu Province and Tongren County in Qinghai Province in the south, Jianza County in the west, and Hualong County and Minhe County in Qinghai Province in the north

The population of Xunhua Salar Autonomous County is mainly Salar, and Tibetan, Hui, Han and other nationalities live here

撒拉族男子服饰是以黑、白色为主，多穿大裆裤、交领长衫。过去，衣着有中亚（游牧民族）风格；头上戴六角形（黑色、白色）圆帽。撒拉族男子通常喜欢留胡子。

明末清初时期，撒拉族妇女外出时会用青布缠头；后改戴盖头。少女、新婚女子的盖头为绿色；中年女子、育有子女的盖头为黑色；撒拉族妇女年长者盖头多为白色。
