Zhang Zhong, a Shouzhong, is from Songjiang (now Shanghai). The date of birth and death is unknown. It was mainly in the Zhizheng (1341-1370) period of the Yuan Dynasty. He is good at drawing and especially works on flowers and birds. Gu Fu of the Ming Dynasty once rated him as “the first sketching in the Yuan Dynasty”, which has a great influence on flower and bird painting of future generations.
