Description:
Pages from Diamond Sutra illustrated booklet (codex). Frontispiece show the Buddha preaching, surrounded by monks and bodhisattvas. The monk kneeling in front of the Buddha is Subhuti. Frontispiece positioned in sequence with eight Vajrapāṇi (thunderbolt bearers), one of which is on the other side, holding up a vajra, identified by Chinese inscription (OA 1919,0101,0.212.2). Painted in ink and colours on paper.
