The Sunset Desire Picture Axis, in modern times, is painted by Fu Baoshi in paper, light crimson, 47 centimeters vertically and 58.5 centimeters horizontally
The title of this painting is: “The setting sun is about to set, so it is delayed. Write it in white with a stone.” The seal is “Private Seal with a Stone”, with a square seal in white text, and “Often Drunken After”, with a rectangular seal in Zhu text
This picture is based on a poem by a friend Qian Changzhao, “After all, the heavens pity distant guests, and the sunset is about to set, so it’s too late.”. Fu Baoshi and Qian Changzhao got to know each other in the 1940s, and they exchanged poems and books, forming a profound friendship
The picture depicts a fresh and charming scenery in the mountains. The green peaks are like barriers, and thousands of pines cover the sky. The mountains and stones carved by random strokes have a charming appearance. The floating clouds in the valleys and gullies add a light and ethereal atmosphere to the originally slightly heavy mountains and rivers. The sunset tints the distant mountains into a faint golden color, making people deeply intoxicated, happy and carefree. This picture is not large in size and has exquisite dots, which can be seen as a witness to the friendship between Fu and Qian
