Xu Beihong Liu Que Map Axis

[Xu Beihong’s Liu Que Painting Axis]

The “Liu Que Painting” axis, in modern times, is painted by Xu Beihong on paper, with colors, 100 centimeters vertically and 61.5 centimeters horizontally
Self title: “In the spring of 33, when the new residence of Hua Ju Rendi at Li Xing Middle School was completed, I write this congratulatory letter.” With the seal of “Sadness”, Zhu Wenyin is affixed. One side of the seal is blurred and indistinguishable
The 33rd year refers to the 33rd year of the Republic of China (1944), when Xu Beihong was 49 years old
In 1944, Xu Beihong was hospitalized in Chongqing for half a year due to hypertension and nephritis. The doctor instructed him not to draw with his pen. Therefore, the number of his creations decreased sharply this year. This painting was painted by him at the invitation of a friend at the beginning of the year, and is very rare. The picture is drawn during the Spring Festival when there are thousands of willows and willows in the spring breeze. Six magpies are perched on the newly green branches of the willow tree, two of which are closely related and whispering, causing other magpies to stop and watch
This picture is ingeniously conceived, with magpies in single or double, forming a “C” shape, with sparse or dense distances between them, and high or low positions, making the picture full of rhythmic changes and vivid. The picture is full of willow branches fluttering in the wind, outlined with a center stroke. The lines are thick, thin, and even, full of elasticity, demonstrating the author’s solid line drawing skills. The myriad strands of willow branches connect the scattered magpies together to compose a happy spring song to celebrate the completion of Huaju Rendi’s new residence.
