[Chen Shizeng’s Peach Garlic and Loquat Painting Axis]

The Peach Garlic and Loquat Painting Axis, in modern times, was painted by Chen Shizeng in paper, with colors, 87.5 centimeters vertically and 44.8 centimeters horizontally
Self title: “Accumulative Huashi, and luxuriant and brilliant. Zhu Zizengyan, and Jiake frequently come. Dede has a red face, and Laopu has been growing year by year. In September of the Geng Shen era, Yining was born. Chen Hengke was born.” Seal: “Chen Shi”, “Emerald Orchid Tiao”
“Gengshen” refers to the ninth year of the Republic of China (1920)
The picture shows a peach, pomegranate, and loquat with one branch each, uneven and orderly, and numerous fruits. In the painting, peach leaves are painted in cyan with different shades of ink, and the muscles and veins are outlined in heavy ink. Peach fruits alternate in red and green, with a natural color. The branches of pomegranate are strong and beautiful, and the small leaves seem casual, but the strokes are light and lively, contrasting with the thicker peach and loquat leaves, making the picture different in weight and full of rhythm.
