Storm Map Axis, modern times, Fu Baoshi painting, paper version, color setting, vertical 109.4 cm, horizontal 61.4 cm
The title of this painting is: “In the scorching heat of June of Yiyou, I write here to seek cooling and dispersion. The new metaphor is Fu Baoshi’s Vajraya Hill descends from the mountain.” The seal is “Fu” with a rectangular seal in Zhu Wen, “Seal of Baoshi” with a white square seal, “Yiyou” with a rectangular seal in Zhu Wen, and “For mountains and rivers,” with a rectangular seal in Zhu Wen
Yiyou was born in 1945
The mountains, rivers, and waters of Zhongshan are all shrouded in strong winds and bitter rain. The peaks, regardless of distance, have become a vast expanse, disappearing from their original contours. During this period, the grass houses on the flat ground were almost torn by the wind and rain, and were tottering. The painter’s depiction of mountains and rivers is not realistic, but shows the speed and strength of rainstorm by controlling the direction and strength of writing, so as to strengthen the real feelings brought by rainstorm. “I can imagine that when a painter paints, he must be unrestrained and unrestrained, with a quick brush sweep, and vividly write down the shocking momentum of the wind and rain. In fact, it is a masterpiece that depicts scenery with momentum and moves people with momentum.”
