Zhu Ben was in the Qianjia Dynasty when the painting of beautiful women was “majestically an independent subject in the painting”. Like other professional painters of beautiful women, such as Yu Ji, Gaiqi, Gu Luo, Jiang Xun, he was not interested in the paintings of beautiful women advocating religious and feudal ethics and the themes reflecting the recreational life of aristocratic women.
