Gaoqipei Xianshan Pavilion Axis

[Gaoqi Pei Xianshan Pavilion Axis]

Xianshan Pavilion Axis, Qing Dynasty, Gaoqi Pei painting, silk version, color setting, 188.5 cm vertical, 97 cm horizontal
The title of this picture is “Kangxi Renyinchun, Tieling Gaoqipei system.” The next seal is “Gaoqipei” Zhu Wenyin and “Geyuan” Zhu Wenyin. The collection seal is “the treasure of Emperor Qianlong” and “the book and painting record of Baoyun Building”. “Kangxi Renyin” is the sixty-first year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1722)
Gao Qipei’s paintings are famous for finger-painting. This painting “The Painting of Celestial Mountains and Pavilions” is exquisite and gorgeous, which is quite different from its simple style of ink. From the research of the painting itself and Gao’s friendship, the Jiehua Pavilion in this painting is not Gao Qipei’s autograph. From the painting manuscript to the “beautiful painting” of color, it is Yuan Jiang’s autograph for the high-ranking master of finger-painting. The cooperation between Yuan Jiang and Gao Qipei has also become a clear proof of the artistic exchange between the two opposing camps of traditional Chinese painters and professional painters, even if the exchange is one-way.
