Kong Biao, the 19th grandson of Confucius, lived in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. In the first instance, filial piety and honesty, in addition to the doctor, Bo Changchang. Later, he served successively as the minister of letters, the governor of books, the governor of Boling, the governor of Xiapi, and the governor of Hedong. Resignation from retirement due to illness. He died in July in the fourth year of Jianning in the Eastern Han Dynasty (171) at the age of 49. This tablet was erected by 13 people (named in the tablet), including the late official Cui Lie, in honor of his legacy. The original stone is now in the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong Province
The inscriptions before and after the inscription are simple and elegant, which can be regarded as the specimen of the inscription in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The official script is written in the boundary. The characters are small, but the spacing and line spacing are very wide, and the layout is clear and transparent. Yang Shoujing’s “Commentary on the Stele of Hormone Flying Pavilion” said that his character “exquisite strokes and strict structure” was the most definitive comment. The word “fake” in the fifth line of this book, “fake Gaotao”, and the word “life” in the sixth line, “sitting at home is not life”, have been damaged, but can still be recognized. The word “cut” in the sixth line of “cut four evils” can be seen from the upper left of the word “small”. In the fourteenth line, the word “debate” in the word “debate” is left in half, and the remaining strokes of the word “residence” can be seen. It should be the old expansion in the middle and early Qing Dynasty. There are two seals on the seal: “Zhang Derong Jiancang Jinshi Characters” and “Three Qus Zhang’s Jinshi Longevity Examination”
