[Chen Hongshou’s Yellow Stream Jujin Map Page]

The Yellow Stream Jujin Map page, painted by Chen Hongshou in the Ming Dynasty, in silk, colored, 30 cm vertically and 25 cm horizontally
The Painting of Yellow River and Giant River is one of Chen Hongshou’s Miscellaneous Albums. The painter on the right side of this picture has his own title: “Yellow River Jujin”. Payment: “Old Chi Hongshou”. “Laochi” was named by Chen Hongshou when he became a monk at Yunmen Temple in Shaoxing to avoid Qing soldiers. It can be speculated that this picture was painted by Chen Hongshou after the death of the Ming Dynasty in 1644
On a small scale, the painter painted a ferry in the surging Yellow River. In the picture, the Yellow River is choppy, with several sailing boats dangling on the water, and several ships are berthed in the port at the lower left corner. On the opposite bank of the Yellow River, there are bamboo forests, and houses and houses are looming
Chen Hongshou crossed the Yellow River twice when he entered and left Beijing at the end of the Ming Dynasty. He was impressed by the majesty of the Yellow River and drew this picture with his eyes and mind. The painter deliberately expressed the majestic momentum of the Yellow River water, using ink to draw the spray and reuse the white stain. The pen is solid, the lines are strong and slightly decorative, and the scenery on both sides is relatively virtual, making the picture form a very clear contrast between reality and reality. This picture can be described as one of the most distinctive structures of ancient water paintings.
