Guiyu is dark green, round, open, and slightly retracted. Gui has an animal swallowing ear on both sides, which is shaped like a Kui-shaped column with an animal’s head and mouth. The designs on both sides of the body are the same, each side has two convex halberds for decoration, the middle part is a convex carved sheet animal head, and the two sides of the animal head have a negative Kui pattern. Gui’s abdomen is lined with longitudinal stripes, and there are circular feet under it
Gui is a popular food utensil in the Shang and Zhou dynasties. This work is an archaize utensil with a different shape than the Shang and Zhou antiques. In the Ming Dynasty, this kind of antique Gui can be used for indoor furnishings and also for burning incense. The wooden cover of this Gui is made of red sandalwood, which is matched by the Qing Dynasty Palace. It is carved with antique cloud patterns and hollow grass patterns. The cover button is a jade piece of the Yuan Dynasty. In terms of the form of the wooden cover, it was once used as the fragrance for storing spices in the court of the Qing Dynasty.
