With round strokes and sharp strokes, bamboo leaves use the width and straightness of the strokes to give full play to their calligraphy skills, and throw them out naturally to reflect the positive and lateral back of the leaves and look forward. He immediately sent Wang Fu a generous gift and asked him to draw another picture. Wang Fuxiao said, “I’m visiting for Xiao Sheng, and you will repay me with Xiao Sheng, and you are a layman.” So he tore up the front painting and returned the gift. This aloof and aloof character is always naturally revealed in the ink bamboo in Wang Fu’s works, and becomes a reflection of his personality
The self-title of this picture is: “□ □ Wang Fu wrote and sent the Qing confession of Zen master outside the dust on the ninth day of Xinsi.” The lower seal is: “Meng Duan”. On the side of the frame is Wu Hufan’s inscription: “Xin Si was Jianwen for three years, and Jiulong Mountain people were forty years old. There are gouges and patches on the Xin character, and it is taboo to cover Yongle after Jingnan.” According to this, the missing words on the Xin character should be “Jianwen”. After the reform of Yongle, collectors are taboo, for fear of causing unexpected disasters, so dig it out. This is an example of the political turmoil that often involves works of art. Fortunately, few gouges were made, and there was no major damage to the painting. During Hongwu’s reign, Wang Fu was relegated to Datong, Shanxi Province because of his involvement. In the first year of Jianwen’s release, he was released to Beijing (Nanjing). This picture was made two years after his release. The air of aloof and unrestrained was exposed in the bamboo. It can be seen that he was not slightly cold because of being relegated. According to the Silent History of Poetry, Wang Fuwei “traveled in Taihang, went out of Yanmen, and traveled between the Jin Dynasty. He often felt nostalgic and could not go there. At that time, people admired his name, argued for it, and looked at his magnificent appearance. The discussion was vigorous and highly valued.” It was known that Wang Fuwei was more experienced, and his style and literary grace were higher. This picture was the reflection of the painter’s mind at that time

Wang Yingxiang of the Qing Dynasty wrote a poem in the upper left corner of this picture, saying, “I have cherished the jade immortals in the sky for a few years. Looking back, I haven’t found my hometown yet, and my dream should be around the edge of the bamboo stream.” It was intended that Wang Fu had been hiding in Jiulong Mountain for many years. There is a poem by Shao Bao of the Ming Dynasty in the Youshi Hall, which reads, “It’s hard to see Xiao Xiao counting the leaves, and it’s hard to draw bamboo here. Who believes that the book once put pen in it, and the piece of time is as good as the river of Chu.” Wang Fu’s attainments in writing bamboo are highly praised. The so-called “Zhongshu” in the poem refers to Wang Fu, who was once the official “Zhongshu Sheren”. However, when Wang Fuguan arrived at Zhongshu Sheren, it was the tenth year of Yongle (1412), and it was more than ten years after the drawing was made.
