The signature on this page: “On the 4th of May of the Wanli Jiaxu holiday, Wenjia in Maoyuan.” The seal is “Wenjia’s seal”, “Zhaoxiyu’s name is Jiaming”, and the seal is “Wenshui Taoist”, Zhu Wenyin. “Jiaxu” is the second year of Wanli (1574) in the Ming Dynasty. The author was 74 years old
The author claims to imitate Dong Yuan in the inscription, but in fact, it is mainly the painting method that Wen Zhengming came all the way, reflecting the fun and life of Wu Chinese people at that time. The strokes are neat and meticulous, the composition is dense and rigorous, and the charm is elegant and simple. The mountain stones are rubbed with dry pen and light ink, and then the moss is dotted with thick ink. The branches and leaves of the trees are mostly composed of different shades of ink, covered with a layer of blue, near thick and far light, with clear layers. The picture shows the winding path of mountains and rocks, the bank of the creek head, the small bridges and boats, the wine shops, and the pedestrians and drinkers. As the author wrote, “Yedian Mountain, the bridge and the creek are far away, and the mist is shining in the forest and the green smoke shop. The cold weather breaks through the bamboo hat and rushes to the wind, and the journey climbs up and carries the wine.”
