This fan records two ancient poems by Xie Lingyun, a poet of the Song Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty. The first poem, “Poems of Crossing the First Ningshu Village”, changes from “the hair is tied with sincerity” to “the words are not allowed to be spoken alone”, and then ends with the second poem, “Poems of Fuchunzhu”. The payment is signed with “Wang Chong”, and the seal is “Wang Chong’s private seal” and “Fu Ji’s seal”
Wang Chong’s calligraphy is beautiful, and the paper and ink are excellent. His regular script has got rid of the state of imitating Yu Shinan and Zhiyong in his early years. It is a masterpiece of his regular script.
