This picture is signed with the following words: “Old Lian Hongshou is painted in the Orchid Thatched Cottage.” The seal is “Chen Hongshou’s seal” in white and “Zhang Hou’s seal” in Zhu Wen
The picture of children worshipping Buddha depicts the scene of four children worshipping Buddha in a pagoda. In the picture, a the Taihu Lake Lake stone stands upright. In front of the stone, there is an exquisitely carved statue of Buddha and a copper tower for Buddha. In front of the Buddha, two children worship the Buddha, one child presents flowers, and the other child kneels and wipes the copper tower. They focus on each other. They are naughty and show solemnity. One of the children shows fat hips when kowtow, which makes people laugh. The the Taihu Lake Lake stone in this picture is sketched in a thick way. It is exquisite and clear. The outline lines are mostly arc shaped, sharp and straight. Buddha statues and figures are all drawn with fine lines, with delicate layers, elegant style, bright and gentle colors, skillful techniques, and characters with both spirit and shape, full of interest.
