imitating Wang Meng’s landscape map axis, Ming Dynasty, blue Ying painting, paper edition, color setting, 135 cm vertically and 59.1 cm horizontally
Self title: “Huang Heshan woodcutter painted in the Xiangting Pavilion at the stream of Xixi River, with Taoist Lan Ying.” After that, the seal of “Lan Ying” (in white) and “Tian Shu” (in Zhu) were stamped. The painting depicts the autumn landscape in light crimson colors. Under the crags and cliffs, the hermits in the water pavilion talk to each other, and the trees are red and yellow, creating a warm and slightly bleak mood in late autumn. Although the painter said in his title that he imitated Wang Meng’s painting method, he also used Shen Zhou’s spotting technique, which represented the mature face of the author’s landscape painting.
