The page titled Boyi Odes, Yuan, Deng Wenyuan’s book, paper, 32.7cm vertically, 40.9cm horizontally, running script. Explanatory text: The ancient philosopher, my teacher, and the ancient inscription. A book is better than a goose. The story is blessed by the emperor, and the village temple pays homage to Zhong Ding. Go to the hall to see the ink. The heart is far away from the world. Who buys the Mountain Yinxu? It’s really Hepu Pearl. The body is immortal, and the book is consistent with the Tao. All Lao Zhens are still cowards. Deng Wenyuan, a scholar of the Shu Dynasty, suddenly turned his head. Seal “Deng Wenyuan Seal” and “Brazil Deng Shishan Seal”. There are half seals of “Bao Xian”, half seals of “Shi Lu Shi Sun”, half seals of “Zhen Yuan”, and half seals of Zhang Heng and Pan Hou. These two poems are titled after the volume of “Ode to Boyi” written by Fan Zhongyan of Song Dynasty. In the volume, Dai Biaoyuan wrote another poem and said in the preface: “… Daxing Li Hou Kan, who was born in Yan, and who came to guard Wu in the south, was in the village of Wenzheng Gong, who visited his son and grandson to give it to him.” Also, on February 21, the Gengzi of Dade wrote a poem, which was previously said: “The chief minister of Yizhai attributed to Fan with the official book of Wenzheng, Song of Boyi, which he collected.” Later, “The book is in the western preface of Yizhai”, separated by the two poems of Shi Xiaoxiang, that is, Deng’s two poems. In Deng’s poem, there is a sentence “true return to Hepu Pearl”, which said that the return of the “Ode to the Boyi” to the Fan family should be after Gong Yu wrote the poem, that is, the Deng family was about 40 years old after the fourth year of Dade in the Yuan Dynasty (1300). Fan Zhongyan’s book “Ode to the Boyi” has been recorded in the Ming Dynasty’s “Iron Netted Coral Calligraphy Volume II” and the Qing Dynasty’s “Grand View Collection Calligraphy Volume III”, and its whereabouts are unknown. Dengba was still in the back of the volume when it was recorded. I don’t know when it was cut. Dengba’s calligraphy is vigorous and handsome, unrestrained and self-confident, casual and regular, and has a typical calligraphy style of the Yuan Dynasty. Deng Wenyuan’s calligraphy achievements were praised by calligraphers of the same era, such as Yu Jiyun: “Those who are good at calligraphy between Dade and Yanyou must go to Brazil (Deng Wenyuan), Yuyang (Xianyushu), and Wu Xing (Zhao Mengfu).”
