[Huanggongwang Danya Jade Tree Axis]

Danya Jade Tree Axis, Yuan, Huanggongwang painting, paper, color, vertical 101.3 cm, horizontal 43.8 cm
There are five postscripts of the Yuan Dynasty, including Zhang Zhu, Lu Xingzhi, Wang Guoqi, Xu Lin and Anonymous. There are two postscripts of Dong Qichang in the Ming Dynasty and one postscript of Pan Yijun in the Qing Dynasty
Although this picture is not printed by the author, Zhang Zhu’s poem at that time said: “The scholar of Yifeng is mentally healthy, and this painting should be painted by a painter before.” It indicates that this picture was painted by Huang Gongwang
In the picture, mountains overlap, high pines and miscellaneous trees are scattered on the rocks and slopes, and the Temple of Fansi is hidden in the rocks and trees. The stream turns and the clouds and smoke curl around, creating a profound and beautiful artistic conception. Huang Gongwang once said, “Those who make landscapes must learn from Dong as a teacher, just like Du who recites poems.” This picture is written with the Pima texturing technique created by Dong Yuan and Juran, and colored with light red ink
Because the painting is done on paper, the author gives more full play to the charm of the integration of pen and ink than his silk works such as “The Stone Wall of Tianchi Lake” and “The Painting of Nine Peaks after Snow”. The brush is loose and beautiful, and the color is casual and unrestrained. The misty and floating clouds and mists are set off at the place where the brush is not touching. The opening and closing of the virtual and the real add to the beauty of the landscape, so although the mountains are full of paper, there is no sense of being forced to block. Wang Yuanqi commented on Huang’s painting, Zeng said: “Every time you see the brush used in the scene, it is still steep in the thick, and the wild turns to see Juanyan. It is thin and airy, and it is filled with more and more outline, meaning infinite.” This painting can be regarded as a representative
