This is a typical literati ink bamboo painting, which is the representative work of Gao Kegong, a painter of the Yuan Dynasty. The picture shows a beautiful stone, two bamboo trees are born behind the stone, one thick and one light, the strokes are thick and strong, the ink is fresh and moist, and the structure is strict. The natural drooping of bamboo leaves vividly depicts the graceful and unrestrained posture of bamboo in the misty rain
Gao Shi at the bottom left of this picture said: “Ke Gong is the son of Jing.” With the seal of “Yan Jing”. On the right side, there are six seals, such as “Qing Fu’s seal”, “Gu’s treasure”, “Wu Jingxu’s seal”, “Renshan identification”
“Zi Jing” is a famous scholar and calligrapher in the early Yuan Dynasty. In the middle of the right side of the picture is a poem by Zhao Mengfu, which reads: “The high marquis has set up a business, and the jade stands in the misty rain. Several people can solve this problem. Xiao Xiaohan has a clear autumn wind. Zi Ang inscribes.” The next seal is “Zhao Ziang”. It can be seen from the inscription that Zhao highly praised Gao Kegong’s ink bamboo, and Gao also highly regarded his own ink bamboo. He said: “Zi Ang wrote bamboo, but god is not like; Zhong Bin (Li Yan) wrote bamboo, but god is not like, and if god is like, we are two of them.”
It is recorded in the Great View Record, Jiangcun Selling Summer Record, and Shigu Tang Calligraphy and Painting Collection.
