The seal of the collection is “Xiang Yuanbian Family Treasure”, “Ink Forest Secret Play”, “Zhang Bojun’s Seal of Fine Calligraphy and Painting”, “Yier’s descendants”, “Zhang Zizhi’an Secret Collection”, “Weng Boda’s”, etc
At the back of the volume is a seven-character poem written by Hu Ziang of the Ming Dynasty and a paragraph inscribed
This volume of “Tao Te Ching” is attached with the line drawing “Lao Tzu’s Sutra” and the collection seals of Qianlong, Jiaqing and Xuantong Neifu in the Qing Dynasty. In the lower left corner of the figure, the Yuan Shengmao style shows that this scroll was collected as a painting at that time, but it was verified that this style was added later and was not written by Sheng, and it was not mentioned in the postscript of Hu Ziang on the back paper. Only on Wu Rui’s calligraphy, it can be seen that this scroll should be a masterpiece of Wu Rui’s official script
This book was written in the third year of the Yuan Dynasty (1335), when Wu was 38 years old. Wu Rui’s handed down calligraphic works are few. Tao Te Ching is his official script representative work. The structure is neat and stable, the shape is uniform in size, and the strokes are square and round. Although it has the scale of Han Li, it is actually in accordance with the style of Tang Li. Five thousand words are written in one go, and there is no lax pen. The skill is considerable
