Qian Xuan’s landscape paintings are based on green and green colors. They are close to Zhao Boju of the Southern Song Dynasty, and far back to Yang Sui Zhan Ziqian and Li Zhaodao. Although the composition of the painting is different from that of “The Painting of Dwelling in seclusion”, the strokes and colors are from the same source, which can be regarded as “double walls”. “The Painting of Fuyu Mountain” (collected in the Shanghai Museum) is a representative work of Qian Xuan, which is mainly in ink. The yin and yang of the mountains and stones in the volume are represented by the ink brush. In terms of achievements, Qian Xuan jumped out of the pattern of the two Song Dynasty academies and pursued the style of Jin and Tang Dynasties. He was unique in the painting world in the early Yuan Dynasty and played a positive role in creating a new generation of painting style. However, compared with Zhao Mengfu and the “Yuan Sijia”, whose landscape paintings are more in line with the literati’s aesthetic concept of emphasizing pen and ink and artistic interest, Qian Xuan’s influence on later generations is a little weaker.
