Picture page of frost tallow mountain bird, Southern Song Dynasty, silk version, colored, 24.2 cm in length and 25.4 cm in width
This picture has no style. Half a print is indistinguishable
The picture shows a branch of Chinese tallow, with sparse leaves and slightly red leaf tip after frost. The fruit is full of branches, indicating that it is late autumn. The three civilian birds have different postures and live on branches. The branches are drawn in thick ink, and the veins and twigs are traced in ochre. The leaves and small fruits are painted with no bones. The twists and turns of the leaves and the twists and turns of the branches are very detailed. Wenniao’s feathers are drawn with a fine center line, and different parts of its body are lightly dyed with white powder, ochre, and thick and light ink, which are exquisite and realistic. The composition is sparse and clear, dynamic and static, and the color is gorgeous and not vulgar. This is an elaborate painting in the sketch of the Southern Song Dynasty.
