The Painting of Returning to Zhao on the Snow River, written by Zhao Ji in the Song Dynasty, in silk, with colors, 30.3 cm vertically and 190.8 cm horizontally
On the upper right corner of the painting is the thin gold book of Zhao Ji, Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty, “The Snow River Returns to Zhao (Sound)”, and on the lower left corner is the seal “Made by Xuanhe Hall” and the inscription “One Man in the World”
This is a landscape painting depicting snow in winter. At the beginning of the picture, the mountains are gentle. After entering the middle section, the mountains gradually rise and turn to be gentle. The whole picture is full of a sense of rhythm, which makes the viewer feel as if sitting in a boat and looking out of the window at the changing scenery along the river, fully displaying the characteristics and charm of the scroll painting. The whole volume has fine and vigorous strokes, smooth strokes and solemn artistic conception, which represents the artistic level of the painting academy in the period of Song Huizong
This picture was once collected in the Qianlong Palace of the Qing Dynasty, and described in books such as Shiqu Baoji · Continuation.
