Chen Qingbo Lake Mountain Spring Dawn Picture Page

[Chen Qingbo’s Spring Dawn Map of Lake and Mountain]

The Spring Dawn Map of Lake and Mountain, painted by Chen Qingbo in the Southern Song Dynasty, in silk, colored, 25 cm vertically and 26.7 cm horizontally
The inscription on this page reads: “Yi Wei Chen Qingbo.” The seal is printed on the side of “Pang Laichen’s collection of authentic works of the Song and Yuan Dynasties”. Description of Pang Yuanji’s “Xu Zhai Famous Paintings”
This page draws the spring mountains and lakes in the way of Pingyuan. On one side of the lake embankment is the deep courtyard Chonglou hidden in the green trees. On the path across the lake, one person rides a horse and looks back at Chonglou with a whip. Two servants carry umbrellas and shoulder loads. The lake is wide and high in the sky. The figure in the painting is an outing, a trip, a provincial parent, and a distant official, which is thought-provoking. Although the pavilions are painted in bold strokes, the cornices and windows are refined without losing accuracy. The simple and clear lines, the large blank courtyard format and the fresh and elegant colors make the picture full of spring beauty in the implicit implication.
