Zhang Bo made the statue of Maitreya

[Zhang Bo made the stone Maitreya Buddha]

Zhang Bo made the stone Maitreya Buddha, the fifth year of the Kaihuang reign of the Sui Dynasty (585), with a residual height of 23.5 cm and a width of 16.5 cm
The back screen has three figures of one Buddha and two Bodhisattvas. The Buddha has a low and flat bun, a square and round face, a wide mouth and thin lips. The body is tall and long, and the abdomen is slightly outward. She wears a double-necked pendulous cassock with a stepped pattern, applies the fearless seal on her right hand, and the vow seal on her left hand, and stands barefoot on the lotus seat of the treasure suit. The two sides of the Buddha are Bodhisattvas, wearing a trefoil crown on their head, and the treasure Zeng goes through the leaves on both sides and hangs in front of their shoulders. Wearing a peach tip collar, the cloth is tied at the upper abdomen and hung around the outside of the arm. She wore a skirt, hung with lace, and stood barefoot on the platform supported by lotus leaves. Two Bodhisattvas hold lotus buds in their inner hands and peach-shaped objects in their outer hands and legs. The bottom is a rectangular base, and the front is carved with a platform. In the center is the bodhisattva holding the Boshan stove with both hands. There are lotus leaves on both sides of the stove, and the outside is the lion squatting on the front side. The text of the vow is engraved on the right and back sides. It is “On July 27th, the fifth year of the reign of Emperor Kaihuang, the statue of Maitreya was built for the dead Zhang literature, and Zhang Bo was the rest.”
