[Wang He and other stone Buddha statues]
Wang He and other stone Buddha statues, the 10th year of Tianbao in the Northern Qi Dynasty (559), with a residual height of 32 cm
Sakyamuni and Duobao are in the same posture. They sit on a narrow rectangular seat with a waist folded, with a lintel on the outside and dragon trees and disciples on both sides. In the center of the base is the incense burner held by the Huasheng boy. On both sides are the donors, one male and one female, with their hands together, and the two sides of the donors are lions. At the back of the base is carved a vow: “On the 18th day of the fifth lunar month of April, the tenth anniversary of Tianbao’s birth in the Great Qi Dynasty, the Buddha disciples Wang He, Wang Si, and the Taoist Zhilin brothers made a body of precious jade for their dead parents. The upper part is the Emperor’s Majesty, the middle part is the parents of the seventh generation of the deceased, the teachers and monks, and the lower part is the living beings with knowledge and suffering. They are willing to share the dharma world and become Buddha for a time, and all of them will be the best.”
