Stone Siwei Statue, Eastern Wei Dynasty, 46.5cm high and 22.5cm wide



The Thoughtful Bodhisattva wore a garland of three leaves on his head, with silk bands on both sides, a round face, eyebrows and fine eyes, a smile on his face, a topless body, a collar on his neck, a cloth on his shoulder, hanging around his arms, and a long skirt. The bodhisattva’s arms are incomplete, but he can see that his right hand is holding his knee and pointing, his left hand is touching his right foot, he sits on the waist stool with half open arms, and his left foot is stepping on the small lotus platform. Round head light, body slightly forward. The lower part is a rectangular base, the middle part of the front side is a Luxtobo furnace, and the two sides of the furnace are lotus buds and leaves. A lion squatting on its side is embossed on both sides. Each side of the base is painted with two bodies of the donor, kneeling, facing the front, with narrow sleeves, round necks, and cage sleeves holding a lotus bud in front of the abdomen. The thought image was unearthed in Quyang County, Hebei Province
