Stone Portrait of Zhou Gongfu Becoming a King in Kitchen, Eastern Han Dynasty, 63 cm high and 77.3 cm wide
The picture is divided into two parts, the upper part is the story of Zhou Gongfu becoming king. One person sits upright in the center. Although his position is respected, he is small and obviously a young king. There are four people standing on the left and four people standing on the left, one on the left, bowing down and bowing his hands, looking humble and reporting to King Cheng. He is the revered Zhou Gongdan. Duke of Zhou is the younger brother of King Wu. He once helped King Wu to destroy the Shang Dynasty, and then he devoted himself to assisting King Cheng, who inherited the throne at the age of 13. The lower part of the portrait is the scene of cooking. On the right side, pigs and sheep are slaughtered. In the middle, people are washing. There are also people treating fresh fish; Fish and duck are hung on the top of the left side, and there is a stove below. One person squats beside the stove to make a fire. This portrait stone comes from Shandong Province
Duke of Zhou was respected in the Han Dynasty. There are many cultural relics of Duke of Zhou in Lu, Shandong and other places, which may be related to it. Portrait stones with the theme of Zhou Gongfu becoming king have been found in Jiaxiang, Shandong Province and other places, and some pictures are engraved with the word “King Cheng”
