[Jade Man and Beast Statue]

Jade Man and Beast Statue, Neolithic Hongshan Culture, 27.7 cm high, 11.7 cm wide at most, 1.5-3 cm thick
It is made of turquoise jade, and there are soil spots glued to the jade on the back. The overall shape is approximately rectangular, the middle part is thick, the front side is slightly arced, the edge is thin, and there is a certain blunt edge feeling. The whole part is carved, which is composed of one person and one animal. The god man wears a cloud shaped high crown on his head, and his body is surrounded by cloud shaped decoration on both sides. His features are bright, and his triangular nose protrudes. The arms and back of his clothes are decorated with grid patterns. The man of God put his hands on his chest, held a long stick and barefoot on an arc-shaped object. Under the horn, there is a beast, like a bear, lying down in a capitulation, with both front feet outstretched. The back of the jade statue is the reverse of the front decoration, which is decorated with grid pattern and tile groove cloud pattern
In the early 1960s, this jade human beast went from Tianjin to Beijing and entered the Forbidden City in 1963. In recent years, with the archaeological excavation of the Hongshan culture in the Northeast, a large number of jade articles from Hongshan culture have been displayed in front of the world, providing a standard for identifying Hongshan jade articles. The detailed decorative features of this jade man and beast figure are not beyond the scope of the Hongshan culture jade. In addition, it was collected earlier, and more and more evidence shows that it is the Hongshan culture jade. However, the composition of the jade image is unprecedented, and it should be the highest grade jade in the Hongshan culture seen at present
