Today, I would like to share with you a group of old photos of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province in 1921, taken by Barber· Margaret· Hart
About Barber· Margaret· I checked the relevant materials of Barbour· Margaret· Hart and there were very few introductions. I won’t write about her today
Wuxi, a prefecture level city in Jiangsu Province, is referred to as“ Tin”, In ancient times, it was called “New Wu”, “Liangxi” and “Golden Chamber”, and was honored as ““ The Pearl of Taihu Lake”. Wuxi is located in the south of Jiangsu Province, in the Yangtze River Delta Plain. The north is close to the Yangtze River and the south is close to the Taihu Lake. The Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal passes through Wuxi. Wuxi is a national historical and cultural city, which has been a land of fish and rice since ancient times. It is known as the Cloth Wharf, Money Wharf, Kiln Wharf, Silk City and Rice Market
There are only four photos in this group, but they are precious. Let’s have a chance to see the city of Wuxi in the early 1920s. There are few old photos of Wuxi in my collection, and even fewer in the early period. So we can see the old photos of this group together
