Sharing a group of old photos of Chengdu from 1917 to 1919, shot by Sidney Gambo.

Sidney· David· Sidney&middlet; David&middlet; Gamble (1890-1968) is an American social economist, humanist and famous photographer. During his five trips between China and the United States between 1908 and 1932, he took a lot of precious photos during his travels in western China. This group of photos was taken by him in Chengdu, Sichuan from 1917 to 1919

甘博一行来到成都时，正值一次军阀混战结束。到处都是被战火摧毁的民房。

四川督军署。原清代贡院大门，现在成都天府广场毛泽东塑像的位置。
甘博一行到成都时，刚刚经过7月“刘戴之战”不久，战争对成都造成了巨大的破坏。

这是成都文殊院禅堂内，众僧在主念僧带领下课诵经文，伴以鼓磐、木鱼等法器。

泰山石。泰山石敢当，是民间禁压不祥的神物，上古之时有很多禁忌和崇拜，石崇拜就是其中很特别的一种崇拜。将小石碑（或小石人）立于桥道要冲或砌于房屋墙壁，上刻（或书）“石敢当”或“泰山石敢当”之类，在民间甚为流行。
