太白山天童寺全景

天童寺，位于浙江省宁波市东25公里的太白山麓，始建于西晋永康元年（300年），佛教禅宗五大名山之一，号称“东南佛国”。

西晋永康年（公元300年），僧人义兴云游至扬州部会郡县（即今鄞州）南山之东谷，因爱其山水，遂在此结茅修持。相传，当时东谷附近并无人烟，却有一位童子每天前来送给薪水。不久精舍建成，童子对义兴大师说：我是太白金星，因为大师笃于道行，感动玉帝，命我化为童子前来护持左右。如今大功告成，特此告辞。言讫童子不见。由此山名太白，寺名天童。

阿育王寺 全景

阿育王寺，位于宁波市鄞州区五乡镇宝幢太白山麓华顶峰下，始建于西晋武帝太康三年（公元282年），已历经1700多年历史。

阿育王寺素有“东南佛国”之称，是佛教禅宗名寺，中国佛教“五山第五”。也是中国现存唯一以印度阿育王命名的千年古寺。因寺内珍藏佛国珍宝释迦牟尼的真身舍利及玲珑精致的舍利宝塔而闻名中外，1984年被国务院公布为“全国汉族地区佛教重点寺院”。
