The old photo of Yunnan in 1943 shows the military and civilian features of Yunnan during the Anti Japanese War. The photographer was Bert Krawczyk, a photographer of the American Flying Tigers stationed in Yunnan at that time
With his camera in his hand, he took many scenic and cultural photos of Kunming, Luliang, Songming and a small number of Sichuan, including the scene when Luliang Airport was built, vividly representing the daily life of Yunnan people and the history of Chinese people’s brave participation in the War of Resistance. These photos were taken from 1943 to 1945, with clear images and extensive contents, which can be regarded as excellent works. These old photos are now in the collection of the American Geographic Society (AGS) Library
The images of local military and civilian figures taken in this group of photos show the style and features of local people at that time
