Old photos of Juyongguan in 1927

The old photos of Juyongguan in 1927, a hundred years ago. It was from August 1924 to 1944 that the Japanese invaders sent intelligence personnel to take a large number of human and geographical photos of various parts of China, which were published by the Japanese as A Collection of Asian Prints. These photos recorded the living conditions of Chinese people at that time, as well as the geographical features of all parts of the country, giving us a chance to see the historical images of China at that time

The magazine of this group of photos was first published in March 1927, so this group of photos should be taken before February 1927

The towering and precipitous Badaling Mountains are located in the northwest of Beijing. On the road to Zhangjiakou, there is a Juyong Pass on the narrow mountain road sandwiched between the cliffs on both sides. This is the gateway to the Western Regions in ancient times, as well as the pass for cultural exchange. It is the only way for Buddhist civilization to move eastward. Therefore, Lama pagodas can be seen everywhere in the surrounding ruins of the old city, and this group of photos also reflect it
