Records of Japanese troops entering Beijing after the July 7th Incident in 1937

This is a group of recorded images of Japanese troops entering Beijing after the July 7th Incident in 1937. The photographer is Joseph· R· Mihalik

Since the outbreak of the Lugouqiao Incident on July 7, 1937, the heroic Chinese army fought hard but still lost, and Beijing fell on July 29

At that time, Josef (Joseph) R. Michalik, who was serving as an American diplomat in China, used the camera to record the scene when the Japanese troops entered Beijing and passed through the Zhengyang Gate in the US military barracks. While some citizens were watching the scene silently, they did not know that the Japanese butcher’s knife and oppression would soon fall on their heads
