Sharing a group of old photos of Qingdao in Shandong Province during the Republic of China, let’s take a look at Qingdao’s urban landscape and various places of interest a hundred years ago. It is rare that these postcards are all color versions

This group of photos was taken by the University of the Japanese Academy of Studies, and was collected by Gan Zhizhu Ishida (1891-1974), a Japanese who was visiting Korea and Manchuria at that time. The photos mainly came from various postcards issued in North China after 1919

青岛军政署

此处的神尾山即信号山，位于青岛市市南区中部，海拔98米，是市区海拔较高的临海山峰。此山原名大石头，青岛建港后，山上建有信旗台，专为轮船及帆船入港时传递信号，故得名“信号山”，又称“挂旗山”。当年日军侵占青岛后，更名“神尾山”，以纪念侵占青岛的日军大将神尾，也建立了日本占领青岛纪念碑。现这些曾使中国人民蒙受耻辱的碑刻早已被凿去，仅留遗迹。

中山路的景象，德占时期叫斐迪里大街，日占时期叫静冈町。国民政府时期改为中山路，抗战时期改为山东路，抗战胜利后再恢复为中山路。
