The old photos shared in this issue are a group of old colorful photos of Nanjing during the Japanese invasion of China. They are from a series of postcards issued by Japan at that time, “The Beauty of Nanjing”. They show the famous scenic spots and beautiful scenery of the city inside and outside Nanjing at that time. However, the battle relics on the two city gates also clearly indicate how much damage and trauma the Japanese army’s invasion caused to the city
This group of photos is from the Harvard University Library. At present, the editor has not found out the specific publication date of this group of postcards. You are welcome to inform the editor

南京 弹痕累累的 南京光华门
日本是在1937年12月13日攻破南京,图上可以看到光华门损毁严重,几乎没做修复,在加上本组照片上都是绿树成荫,明显为夏秋季节拍摄,所以判断本组照片最早的拍摄日期为1938年夏天。
刚刚经历过日本大屠杀的曾经的国都-南京城,路上行人却聊聊无几,就算是繁忙的街道上也是如此,所以这组照片也可以说是日本侵华和实施南京大屠杀的直接罪证。
