北岔子采金场位于珲春境内，沿着珲春河上游四十里左右的，这里的河床出产砂金，被日本人所控制。

北岔子采金场，四个劳工正合作，将锥管敲入地下取土，再分析不同土层的含金量，确定挖掘方案。

当试掘确定了含金丰富的砂层后，进入正式的开采阶段，采矿工将挖好的砂土，通过水的冲击，形成矿砂再装入轨道车运送。

东北沦陷之后，富饶的东北金矿资源都为日本所侵占，他们开采所谓“国有”金矿，以管制“私有”金矿，出租矿区，收购金砂(强迫进行)独占了东北的采金工业。

据第七次《中国矿业纪要》记载：从1935年到1942年间东北地区产金共达876240两。日本通过满铁对金矿资源进行调查，实际则是为掠夺做准备。中国东北的矿产资源为日本军事及经济的发展和壮大起到重要的推动作用。
