哈尔巴岭，在敦化县与汪清县、龙井县、安图县之间。为牡丹江上游与布尔哈通河分水岭。南于安图县福成屯附近接牡丹岭，向北伸入到黑龙江省，于镜泊湖东接黑龙江省老爷岭。

1932年，日本侵略者修筑敦图铁路，在此设站。因这里地处朝阳，一马平川，故而站名被定为朝阳川。此后，无论是从图们站至和龙站，还是从朝阳川站至开山屯站，无不经转朝阳川站，这里遂成为辐辏四方的交通重地。
