宋绍熙二年（1191）始被樵者发现，故有“一朝何事失扃钥，樵者得之人共传”的诗句。三叠泉位于庐山风景名胜区东南九叠谷，被誉为“庐山第一奇观”。它其实并非泉而是瀑布，三叠泉四季景色各异，一般在春末夏初时水量较大，可以看到飞流直下的瀑布，是观赏三叠泉的最佳时机。

白鹿洞相传唐代李渤兄弟在此隐居读书。李渤养了一只白鹿，相随相伴，人称白鹿先生，他隐居读书的山坳又称为白鹿洞。长庆年间(811—824年)，李渤任江州刺史。念念不忘当年山居苦读的旧情，在白鹿洞兴建台榭，遍植花木。
