SamSanzetti, 1902— 1987
Shen Shidi was born in the Crimean Peninsula of Russia, formerly known as Xijoma· Sioma Lifshitz. In 1915, 13 year old Shen Shidi went to Harbin, China with his family. In 1921, 17 year old Shen Shidi, alone, jumped onto a British ship bound for Shanghai. After arriving in Shanghai, Sioma Lifshitz changed her name to Sam Sanzetti, which is easier to pronounce. After knowing Chinese, he has a Chinese name“ Shen Shidi&rdquo
In order to make a living, he made a living by polishing shoes outside the photo studio. In the process, he learned the photography technology. They also bought cameras to create their own works
Later, an American photographer named Wendelberg noticed his work and immediately introduced him to his photography studio. In this way, Shen Shidi embarked on the road of professional photographer. In 1927, Shen Shidi set up his own shop and opened a “; Shanghai Art Photography Museum&rdquo
