  • Description:
Dong Qichang got the calligraphy of Zhu Xi’s chanting of Guangdong Fengshun Feiquan Mountain in early September of the sixth year of the apocalypse (1626). He felt that his poem was consistent with this painting, because he was writing on the painting. This move is different from the general idea of creating a picture based on poetic flavor. Instead of taking pictures as an attachment to poetry and prose, it has an independent status that can compete with it. This painting is mainly composed of the foreground slope stone and the mountain ridge across the river with loose long linen chaps. At first glance, it seems careless, but through the direction, density and intensity of chapped lines and rows of moss spots, it presents the texture, rhythm and momentum of different memory blocks. Compared with Dong’s clear and beautiful treatment of objects and images in his early paintings, this axis has shown a more natural and relaxed artistic pursuit in the late period.
