- Description:
Zhao Mengfu (1254-1322) was a member of the imperial family of Zhao and Song Dynasties. He was born in Wuxing, Zhejiang Province, with the word Zi Ang. After joining the Yuan Dynasty, he once lived in his hometown and stayed away from the rest of the world. In the 24th year of the Zhiyuan era, the Emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty, he was called up to become an official. When he was an official in Jinan, he visited the Baotu Spring, a local scenic spot. His infinite feelings were reflected in his poems, such as the last sentence: “Ice and snow are full of peace and solitude.” In the first year of Yuanzhen (1295), when Jinan came back, I wrote this poem as a gift because my old friend, Zhou, had never been to his hometown since his ancestral home was Shandong. The calligraphy style of the whole volume is different from that of its mature stage.
