  • Description:
The gall bladder is named for its small mouth, long neck, and swollen lower abdomen. In this work, the mouth has a slight lip edge and a short circle of feet. The whole vessel is covered with grey green glaze, and the long pieces are arranged in a clockwise direction with irregular fine lines, showing a “gold wire” phenomenon of black texture and light brown network. The foot margin is dark brown without glaze, and the black embryo is exposed at the wound. Scholars in the Song and Yuan Dynasties often chanted the scene that the gall bladder was filled with flowers. For example, Xu Youren in the Yuan Dynasty wrote a poem, “The gall bladder flowers fall off the inkstone and smell in the pond.” It was said that the gall bladder was a scholar’s desk flower.
