Description:
Fragment of wall-painting showing the head and right shoulder of a figure. This is most likely a representation of the Buddha seated in meditation pose before a white mandorla. He wears a white robe and his head is slightly turned to the right and surrounded by a green nimbus. As the pigments are very faded in some places the facial features are barely visible. Above this figure is the lower part of an additional one, sitting cross-legged and wearing a green robe. All outlines are painted in red. The backing of this wall-painting fragment contains a high number of organic fibres which were covered by several layers of plaster and finally stucco upon which the images were painted.
