Description:
Fragment of a wall-painting with a representation of a Bodhisattva. Only the head and the upper body remain. The Bodhisattva with black hair, red lips and bright green eyebrows has both hands folded before his chest (anjali mudra). He is portrayed wearing heavy jewellery including large earrings in the elongated earlobes and a necklace. Remains of a crown are also visible. All the outlines are in black and were then coloured in. The pigments used are still very vibrant. The backing material used is coarse clay mixed with a high quantity of plant fibres. The surface layer is very thin and friable.
